Summer Screenings

August 7, 2012
Lolita Brinkley in "White Sugar in a Black Pot"

As a director who writers her own material for the screen, I am delighted that  “White Sugar in a Black Pot” is traveling along the film festival circuit. This summer we had a great screening at the 10th Annual International Black Women’s Film Festival. The audience enjoyed the film and we were honored to share our film with San Francisco!

We helped open the Black Harvest Film Festival providing a taste of the magnificent program that will continue throughout August in Chicago at the Gene Siskel Film Center, Chicago’s premiere movie theater. We will also screen August 10th and August 13th within the Shorts Program: Family Matters. Click here for ticket information.

Today we a are helping to launch the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, which continues through the end of this week and is packed with many films representing filmmakers and artists of color within the African Diaspora. I am grateful to share our film with many excited audiences, and I am confident that the audience will receive the films well and the positive energy will continue to flow! This is an invigorating summer. I am learning so much and redefining for the next journey.

Again, thank you so much for your continued support!
